CHANDOR: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda defeated Navelim SC 11-10 via the tie-breaker to lift the 43rd Seamen Trophy, organised by Chandor SC, at Chandor ground, on Sunday.
Clinton Niasso broke the deadlock in the 13th minute for Navelim SC but their joy was short-lived as Niclau Borges equalised in the 17th minute, for Don Bosco.
In the 21st minute, Don Bosco took the lead through Niclau Borges.
Navelim’s Sandy equalised in 58th minute and soon gave his side the lead in the 61st minute, thus completing his brace.
Don Bosco Oratory levelled terms through Malcom Pereira in the dying minute of second half. The teams were locked 3-3 in regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda proved to be better shooters.
The winners were awarded Rs 43,000 and a trophy while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 33, 000 and a trophy.
Former Cuncolim MLA Joaquim Alemao was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence of other dignitaries and club officials.
