DBO Fatorda script hard-fought win over St Anthony SC

GOA VELHA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda scored a hard fought 2-0 win over St Anthony’s Sports Club, Colva to move into the quarter finals of the 13th London Trophy 2019 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club and played at Goa Velha Sports Club ground.
Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda were the first to attack in the 12th minute  as Joel Colaco ran down the flank and centered to Cliff Baretto  who controlled the ball but before he could do any damage he was dispossessed by the St. Anthony SC, Colva defender.
In the 19th minute of play, veteran Nelson Gomes of St. Anthony SC, Colva saw his stunning free kick from about 40 meters tipped over the crossbar for a corner by  DBO keeper Swizel Pereira.
At the other end, Minguel Barretto shot meekly into the Colva keeper Deepraj Gaude’s hands off a Cliff Barretto pass in the 31st minute of play. At half time, the score read 0-0.
In the second half, DBO surged ahead in the 38th minute as Joel Colaco long range effort beat Deepraj Gaude in the Colva goal.
As St. Anthony SC, Colva were desperately trying to equalise Joel Colaco made the issue safe for DBO in the 65th minute of play as he dribbled past a host of St. Anthony defenders and placed the ball into the nets giving no chance whatsoever to the Colva keeper, Deepraj Gaude to make it 2-0 in favour of Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda.
John Colaco, Kabir Khan of St. Anthony’s Sports Club, Colva and Joylex Vaz of Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda were expelled by the match referee Yuvraj Tari.
