PANJIM: Don Bosco Oratory Panjim recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Agassaim Youth Club in the Goa Football Association Third Division League Ilhas zone match played at Taleigao ground, on Wednesday.
The teams put up a balanced show in the initial stages of the match with both the teams restricting their play to the midfield.
DBO had couple of chances in the first session through Mandar and Rajesh but the duo failed to keep their cool in front of the rival goal.
At the other end, Agassaim put up a strong defensive performance in the second quarter to walk all even at the break.
Crossing over, a goal was definitely expected as both the sides wore their attacking boots and pressed their opponents playing end-to-end football.
Don Bosco finally scored in the 71st minute through Mandar Devidas which turned out to be the only goal of the match.
Despite knocking at the rival goal for the equaliser, Agassaim failed to find the net.
