MARGAO, MARCH 26
Former champions Dempo Sports Club are confident of earning  full points  when they meet JCT, Phagwara in an 18th round match of ONGC I-League at Nehru stadium, Fatorda, on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Dempo, buoyed by their fluent 4-2 win against arch rivals and defending champions Musli Power Churchill Brothers last week are beaming with confidence.
Dempo chief coach Armando Colaco who is aware of JCT capabilities, put his boys to a strenuous session on Friday morning. Armando is confident that the midfield will once again function to take control of the match.
The Punjab outfit, JCT will have a stiff challenge as they lost to Dempo 2-1 in their earlier home match.
Colaco was optimistic and said: “We have a good chance to bag three points. This is our home match and the boys have been shaping well. We will miss right wing back Valeriano Rebello, who is sitting out on account of two yellow cards. Cresson Antao will replace him. Anwar Ali who missed the last match will play tomorrow. Other than that I will not alter the playing eleven,” added Colaco.
Colaco further stated: “I may introduce midfielder Clifford Miranda and defender Sameer Naik late in the second half as both have recovered from injuries. Mahesh Gawli continues to nurse an injury. We will go into the match with full force as JCT are unpredictable and I respect the opponents.  The boys will need to focus on three points since each team is fighting to do well in the League.”
JCT coach Parminder Singh is satisfied with the preparation of his team. Parminder while speaking to Herald said: “After the last win against Mumbai Football Club at home the boys are well geared to take on Dempo on Saturday.”
“We had good practice sessions for the Saturday match and I am sure the spectators can expect an excellent performance from us. We don’t want to lose our away matches and will be happy to garner a win, if not a draw,” added Parminder.
“Dempo are a strong team and are eying the title.  When you have a player of Beto’s calibre and the quality of Ranty Martins the business could be very dangerous.  Anthony Pereira and central midfielder Climax Lawrence are also capable of scoring, hence we need to give our best.  Humidity could be a worrying factor for my boys, however we are keen to win this match,” signed off Parminder.
JCT will be going into the match with three foreigners, Nigerian defender Henry, midfielder Penn and striker Emanuel Okoro.
