PANJIM: Dempo defeated Geno by 25 runs to emerge champions of the Goa Premier League 2018 held at Goa Cricket Academy, Porvorim, on Tuesday.
Earlier, Dempo were bundled out for 334 by Geno in their second innings. Geno scored a total of 290 runs before they were bowled out in 102.3 overs. Sangram Atitkar scored 50 runs in 77 balls while Rahul Keni (49), Saurabh Bandekar (42), Reagan Pinto (36) and Manthan Khutkar (32) were the other top scorers.
Dempo’s Darshan Misal who was awarded the man-of-the-match picked five wickets in the 44 overs while Harshad Gadekar took four wickets and Vinay Choudhary picked one to help his team claim the league title.
