Dempo are currently on the 3rd spot with 32 points having played 15 matches and are tied on points with Sporting Clube de Goa. The Golden Eagles will be looking to go for the win as they will want to cut the gap between themselves and league leaders Salgaocar FC.
FC Bardez are out of form right now, as they have lost two straight games against Salgaocar and Calangute Association. The Panthers are currently on the 5th spot with 24 points having played 15 matches.
FC Bardez will miss their skipper Peter Cavalho as he is out due to suspension having got cards in consecutive matches. The same follows for Joel Sunday. Myron Mendes, Lenstan Afonso and Goalkeeper Mirshad K will be out due to injuries. FC Bardez coach Armando Colaco will have to rethink his strategy as he goes up against his former side.
Both the teams have faced each other on two occasions previously. In the Goa Police Cup where the match ended in a goalless draw and in the GPL earlier in the season where FC Bardez got the better of their opponents with a 1-0 win.
FC Bardez manager Armando Colaco said, “Dempo SC are a seasoned team and are strong contenders for the title. I hope my boys get something out of this match and make me and the fans happy.”
