RAIA: Dicarapale Sports Club edged past Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, 5-4 via tie-breaker in the final to clinch the 12th Our Lady of Fatima Soccer Cup organised by Dicarapale Sports Club, at Dicarapale ground, on Sunday. Nearly 3,000 spectators defied the rains to watch the festive final match.
In the 36th minute, Don Bosco Oratory drew the first blood through Micheal Dias, whose long ranger beat Dicarapale goalkeeper hands down.
At the start of the second half, Milton Colaso equalised for Dicarapale SC. The full time score ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Dicarpale SC netted through Adarsh, William, Ajay and Agnelo and for Don Bosco Oratory Michael, Hanslum and Mario were on target.
Savio D’Silva, South Goa District Congress president was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Fr Joaquim Fernandes, parish priest, Vallab Varik, social worker.
