DB Basketeers who started on a meager three point lead in the first quarter kept increasing till the match ended. Daley (31), Spencer (18) controlled the proceedings for Don Bosco Basketeers while Roy Pereira (32) did the bulk of the scoring for DBO, Panjim.
In the last match of the day, Sonics were leading by 10 points in the second quarter. However, at the end of the second semi-final, YMCA beat Sonics 56-55.
Felipe Alvares of the winning team scored the last shot in the dying minutes of the final quarter and helped his team seal their spot in the final against Don Bosco Bakseteers, Fatorda.
Earlier in the tournament, DB Basketeers mauled over the amateur Panjim Basketeers 102-08, Sonics drubbed Alphas 49-29, DBO Panjim outplayed Sporting Club de Ponda 64-18 and YMCA Knights defeated Antruz Sports and Arts Academy, 50-38.
Thirteen Men’s teams from all-over Goa are part of the second major tournament of the season, organized by Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, at the Don Bosco College of Engineering basketball court, Fatorda.
