CANACONA: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda overcame Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club, Paroda 2-0 to advance into the semi-finals of 3rd All-Goa inter-village Fr Bento Martins memorial football tournament at SAG ground, Agonda, Monday. Don Bosco led 1-0 at half time.
Don Bosco took the lead in the 14th minute through Agnel Barreto.
After resumption, Don Bosco doubled their lead through Francis Andrade in the 45th minute.
On Sunday, scoring a goal in each half Guardian Angel Sports Club, Sanvordem registered a facile win over Carmona Sports Club 2-0 to advance into the semi-finals. Guardian Angel led 1-0 at half time.
Benny Oliveira put Guardian Angel in the lead after picking up a pass from the centre, and outwitting a host of defenders.
After resumption, Melvito Fernandes almost in similar fashion got the better of at least two Carmona defenders and later, slotted past the rival goalkeeper to comfortably secure a place for their team in the semi-finals of the tournament.
