MARDOL: Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda beat Navelim SC 6-4 via tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of the 33rd Mardol Trophy, played at Mardol ground, on Wednesday.
Both teams started the match on equal footings. However, Don Bosco surged ahead in 15th minute through an own goal scored by Navelim’s Brandon.
It didn’t take long before Navelim got back into business as they equalised through Clinton Niasso rasping drive from the edge of the box in the 25th minute. The scores were level 1-1 at the lemon break.
Crossing over, DBO Fatorda dictated terms from the word go.
In the second half Velito Miranda put Don Bosco ahead with nice placement shot, 2-1. However, this wasn’t the end, as Navelim yet came strongly to get into the game.
In 54th minute, Danston cross was nicely headed by Clinton Niasso to level score 2-2 for Navelim.
In resultant tiebreaker Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda proved to be the better shooters.
