CURTORIM: Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda defeated Rossman Cruz Nagoa-Verna 7-6 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-final of the Wilred Leisure Soccer Cup football tournament, organised by Wilred Leisure SC, Curtorim played at St Alex church ground, Curtorim on Thursday.
DBO kicked off the game and maintained early possession by it was Rosman Cruz who opened the account early into the game. Beneston Barretto scored for Rossman in the 15th minute.
Down by a goal, Don Bosco regrouped and attacked in numbers. Their hardwork paid off as Velton D’Souza found the equalizer in the 25th minute. The scores were level 1-1 at the break.
The match continued to stun the large audience gathered as the second half witness four goals with either sides netting two goals each. In the span of three minutes, Rossman Cruz scored two quick goals through Savio Fernandes and Beneston Barretto to take the scoreline to 3-1.
However, the Verna side couldn’t defend their two-goal cushion. DBO players fought gallantly and scored two goals to get on level terms. First Joel Colaco scored in the 66th minute before Crasten Araujo caught the rival defence napping to slot home the equalizing goal.
In the resultant tie-breaker Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda proved to be better shooters.
