PANJIM: Salgaocar FC have roped in the services of Dudu Omagbemi for the remainder of the 2013-14 season. This shall be his second stint at the club following a spell in 2002-03.
The 28-year old had five successful seasons in Goa with different clubs, where he finished as the top scorer on two occasions. He went on to join Poland’s Wisla Krakow before moving to Debreceni VSC in Hungary thereby making him the first player from the I-League to have played in the prestigious UEFA Champions League.
“I am delighted to be back at Salgaocar FC. I look forward to giving my best, thereby helping the club achieve a respectable finish come the end of the season”, said Dudu who will don jersey No. 11.
“We have been on the lookout for a striker for a while now and we believe Dudu fits the bill given his past experience of having played in the I-League combined with his proven goal poaching ability” commented coach Derrick Pereira.
With Dudu pairing Duffy upfront, Salgaocar should find the back of the net with far greater frequency, making them a force to reckon with through the second phase of the I-League.
