The teams started the match playing end to end football, thought Dempo SC Juniors were stable upfront, their defence looked vulnerable with poor communication on the field.
Taking full advantage of the same, Dunes managed to break the deadlock in the 6th minute through Jayesh Chodekar who after receiving a pass in the Dempo SC territory and slotted home.
Down by a goal, Dempo SC Juniors were let down by their poor back line which cost them the second goal wherein Jason Fernandes was poorly allowed by the defenders to break into the goal to make it 2-0.
However, Dempo SC Juniors enjoyed the final 10 minutes of the first session and successfully managed to turn their possession play into goals as Larryl Mascarenhas and Cletus Pinto scored two goals in the span of five minutes to make it 2-2 at the breather.
Crossing over, Dempo SC Juniors started the match on an attacking foot and took the lead in the 48th minute through Altroy Rodrigues. But holding on to that slender lead was always going to get difficult with an ever settling defence.
Dunes were rewarded with the equalising goal after all their efforts as Ryan Pereira made it 3-3 in the 64th minute.
Dempo SC Juniors saw two of their players –Ariston Costa and Deepraj Govekar go into the referee’s books for rough play.
