PANJIM: In all, eight Goans connected with Goa Football Association (GFA) find a place in various All India Football Federation (AIFF) committees.
They are: Emergency committee: Shrinivas Dempo (vice-president). Finance committee: Elvis Gomes.
Appeals committee: Adv Valmiki Menezes. Players status committee: Welvin Menezes. Technical, coaching and developmental committee: Savio Messias (vice-chairman). Women’s ad-hoc committee: Maymol Rocky . Sports medical committee: Dr Ganashyam Mardolkar. Futsal and beach football committee: Lavinio J. Rebello.
This is the highest number of Goans featuring in the AIFF panels. The only Goan who is now in AIFF administration is Anil Kamat of Chinchinim, holding the post of assistant general secretary (competitions). Anil has been nominated as AIFF’s delegate for 3rd Lusofonia Games and will be overall in-charge of the football championship, which is basically an under-21 event. Assisting him will be Schubert Furtado (GFA’s representative).
