Enfermos Sports Club, Sinquetim-Navelim registered a 3-2 tie-breaker win over Guirdolim Sports Club to march into the semi-finals of All-Goa Cayman Cup inter- village football tournament organised by Curtorim Gymkhana, at Curtorim ground, on Tuesday. There was no score at full time.
Enfermos spearheaded by strikers Alvito Colaco and Franky Pereira dominated the initial stages of the first half. Guirdolim’s best move came in the first session when Leslie Peixoto’s sharp header missed the target narrowly.
Later, Guirdolim’s citadel survived when striker Alvito’s rasping drive was saved by the rival goalkeeper. Enfermos continued to look for goals but failed to get past the rival defence.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Enfermos scored through Chandrakant Naik, Valentino Pereira and Jaison Pereira while Socorro Dias and Socorro Gomes were on target for Guirdolim.
