Facile win for Sporting Clube de Goa

MAPUSA: A well deserved hat-trick by Velroy Dias pushed Dunes Sports Club to a 5-0 victory over Holiday Sports Club, Arpora in GFA’s U-14 league at Morjim ground, Sunday. Dunes led 1-0 at the change of ends.
Velroy opened the scoring for Dunes after just 94 seconds, when he cut in from the left flank and surprised the goalkeeper by shooting into the near post.
Eight minutes after half time, Lionel D’Souza added his name to the scoresheet by dribbling into the danger area and placing into the back of the net.
Omkar Satalkar took a fantastic shot from 30 yards in the 48th minute for the third, before Velroy knocked in a further two to secure his hat-trick. The first was a rebounded shot after teammate Lesley Britto’s effort was saved and the second had a hint of luck as his cross from the left was deflected in by a rival defender.
At Tembi ground, Anjuna, El Shaddai Sports and Cultural Club drew goalless with Goa United Sports Academy.
At Don Bosco ground, Panjim, Dwayne Britto scored five as Sporting Clube de Goa hammered Santo Estevam Sports Club 17-0. Ryan D’Costa (3), Keenan Dias (2), Jonathan Cardoso (2), Elmar Sequeira (2), Jovito Miranda (2) and Eugencio Machado were the other scorers for Sporting.
