AMBORA: Fatorda Veterans defeated Jose Cookies Veterans 2-1 to win the late Conceicao Memorial Veterans Football Tournament organised by Jose Cookies Veterans, Loutolim at Camorlim panchayat ground on Sunday.
The match started at a fast pace with both the teams missing from close range. Jason Cardozo missed a sitter in the 5th minute. In seventh minute Francis Andrade scored a 30-yard for Fatorda. Three minutes later Jose Cookies’ Mario missed a sitter.

Francis Andrade made it 2-0 for Fatorda. In the 20th minute Eddy of Jose Cookies dribbled passed a host of Fatorda players to reduce the margin.
In the second-half Jose Cookies produced some intelligent moves with Seby Vaz missing a chance to score. Fatorda Veterans’ defence guarded well their citadel to thwart all the rival moves.
Arjuna Awardee Brahmanand Shankhwalkar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up in the presence of other dignitaries and club officials.
