SERAULIM: Our Lady of Rosary Church, Fatorda Parish Youth scored a narrow 1-0 win over Holy Cross Church, Verna Parish Youth to clinch the All Goa Inter-Parish Youth Futsal tournament organised by Our Lady of Pilar Seraulim Parish Youth, played at The Base Futsal arena in Seraulim.
Both teams played attacking soccer however it was Verna Parish who dominated the game but were unable to convert.
In the run of play Fatorda Parish scored their first and only goal in the 9th minute of play when Melban saw his sudden shot from the centre line enter the net.
Verna tried their best to equalise however the Fatorda keeper stood like a rock and displayed great reflexies to ensure a 1-0 victory.
Individual prizes: Best goalkeeper – Karol Soares, Fatorda Parish; Best player – Cyrus, Verna Parish; 1st scorer of the final – Melban from Fatorda.
25 teams from all over the Parish from Goa took part in the tournament. Fr Benjamin Sacrafamilia Youth Animator and Sr Fransquinha Mendes gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up in the presence other dignitaries.
