RAIA: Fatorda Veterans rode on a second half strike from Francis Pango to oust Verna Veterans and moved into the quarter-final of 3rd Assolna Veterans Cup football at Assolna ground, on Monday.
Fatorda Veterans could have had a cool walkthrough, had Rosario Carvalho (Mithun) tucked in a couple of chances that came his way early in the game.

Both sides continued creating chances, and perhaps Anthony Levino Pereira had the best chance early in the second half.
But Pango calmed frayed nerves when he was at the right spot to guide the ball in past Vikrant Sharma. Mithun could have doubled the scoreline, but once again he squandered a chance with only the Verna goalkeeper to beat.
Verna Veterans didn’t give up and nearly got the equaliser towards the end, but an effort from Seby Vaz hit the woodwork.
Vasco Veterans will take on Siolim Veterans in the first quarter-final, on Tuesday.
