MAPUSA: FC Brazilo were  crowned champions of the 1st Sanquelim Football League (SFL) after defeating MSP Lions 4-3 in the shoot-out, played at Sanquelim Municipal ground, on Sunday.
Both the teams started well and marched many times on each other but none of their moves found the net as the first session ended in a goalless.
After some probing attacks at the start of the second session, Brazilo finally opened their account in 41st minute when Sahil 35-yards free-kick crashed into the far post making it 1-0 for the Brazilo.
At the other end, MSP skipper Rohit Jalmi made some swift attacks but Brazilo defence led by Santosh Bhosle made no mistake to clear every danger.
However in the added time, MSP finally found the equaliser when a well-taken free-kick from skipper Rohit was blocked by the keeper Kayes Shaikh but he failed to clear it completely, taking advantage of the same unmarked Paraj slotted the ball home to take the match into the penalty shoot-out.
In the resultant shoot-out, Rohit and Vasudev Gaonkar scored from the spot, while Sagar Hosamani, Vivek Dessai and Abhijit Nair failed to convert the spots kicks. On the other hand, skipper Aryan Sawant, Sahil, and Rudresh Virdikar converted for the Brazilo to give them the title.
