PANJIM: Indian Super League Regulatory Commission met FC Goa representatives in Mumbai for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday. The League reiterated the charges as per the complaint filed by the League to the Regulatory Commission on December 22, 2015.
ISL Regulatory Commission has asked League to furnish further evidence and witness submission by January 13. FC Goa management will subsequently be given two weeks’ time to study the evidences and make their final submission to the Regulatory Commission by January 27. The final hearing is likely to take place in Mumbai on February 21.
Following their 2-3 loss in the final to Chennaiyin FC on December 20, FC Goa boycotted the medals ceremony, alleging the game was fixed.
“FC Goa have been charged under the ISL Regulations for ‘boycotting match and league ceremony’, ‘public criticism and threatening match officials’, ‘allegation of match fixing’, and ‘non-adherence of league rules’,” said an ISL release. The commission included advocate Vidushpat Singhania and former cricketer Kiran More.
The All India Football Federation Disciplinary Committee had earlier served a show cause notice to FC Goa under the AIFF Disciplinary Code and ISL Regulations for ‘team misconduct’, ‘offensive behavior’, ‘threat to match officials’, ‘bringing disrepute to the game’ and ‘public criticism of match officials’.
AIFF Disciplinary Committee had asked FC Goa management to explain why action should not be taken against the club and its officials for various breach of AIFF Disciplinary Code after the Hero ISL 2015 final played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, on December 20, 2015.
AIFF Disciplinary Committee panel charged FC Goa under its Article 53 (Team Misconduct), Article 58 (Offensive Behaviour and Fair Play), Article 60 (Threat) and ISL Regulation Article 22.2 for boycotting match ceremony, engaging in public criticism of match officials and allegation of match fixing (‘or words to that effect’) by the club official.
