MAPUSA/MARGAO: Futebol Club YFA registered a convincing 2-0 win over Compassion FC in the GFA’s Women’s League played at Duler stadium, here on Wednesday morning.
The first session was totally dominated by Futebol eves who scored both the goals in the 28th and 45+3 minute through Ansiva and Chelsea.
YFA should have taken their lead in the 11th minute where a delightful cross by Ansiva Vaz was controlled by Jolinda Ferrao but she failed to beat the rival keeper in a one –to-one situation.
In the 28th minute, Rhea Pires sent a long ball to Ansiva who controlled and drilled a power-packed shot which brushed the gloves of the keeper and entered the goal to give his side the lead.
In the injury time, Chelsea collecting a ball from Ansiva dribbled past two defenders and scored past the onrushing Compassion keeper to make it 2-0.
On crossing ends, Compassion did try to get back into the match but the strikers failed to get past the Futebol defense.
Meanwhile at Rosary ground, Navelim, Sirvodem Sports Club registered a solitary goal win over FC Goa. Sirvodem SC still remain unbeaten in the league while FC Goa suffered their first defeat of the campaign. Daisy Crasto scored the lone goal of the game for Sirvodem SC.
With this win, Sirvodem SC are in contention of making it to the Indian Women League.
