PANJIM: Fr. Agnel College, Pilar beat Zantye College, Bicholim 4-1 in the Goa University Football Championship for Men, organised by Goa University, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Monday.
In another match, MES College, Zuarinagar beat Chowgule College, Margao 4-3 via the tie-breaker.
During regular time, Garry Fernandes scored for Chowgule in the 14th minute. MES College scored the equaliser through Slangel Fernandes in 70th minute.
Govt College, Pernem beat Govt College, Khandola 2-1. Khandola scored first through Mohit Gaonkar. Pernem College fought back with strikes by Sairaj Sawal and Nehal Parsekar.
At Goa University ground, Rosary College, Navelim beat Govt College, Quepem 6-5 via the tie-breaker.
During regular play, Rosary College dominated the first half with goal from Liston Colaco and Aaren D’Silva. Govt.College, Quepem came back strongly with Rinjoy Fernandes and Joel Colaco netting two goals.
St Xavier’s College defeated Post Graduates Goa University 1-0.
Ronald Martins scored the all important goal for St Xavier’s in 48th min.
Govt College, Sanquelim beat DM’s College, Assagao 3-0.
Kunal Salgaonkar scored a brace while Vaibhav Naik scored the other goal.
