CHINCHINIM: Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda, got the better of Rossman Cruz, Nagoa, 5-3 via the tie-breaker to move to the quarterfinals of the Fr Bruno Leitao Memorial Cup, organised by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Wednesday.
Fr Agnelo opened the score-line through Selvin Fernandes in the third minute.
As the match progressed, in the second half, Frazer Rodrigues equalised for Rossman Cruz in the 46th minute.
In the tie-breaker, Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda netted through David, Servin, Dolson and Denzel while Frazer and Savio found the net for Rossman Cruz, Nagoa
The man of the match was awarded to Frazer Rodrigues of Rossman Cruz.
In another match held on Tuesday, Dicarpale SC edged past Varca SC 3-2, and moved to the quarterfinals.
Aeren Figueiredo of Dicarpale SC was at his best with his shooting power and scored the first goal of the match giving Dicarpale SC the lead in the 17th minute.In the 20th minute, Aaron Rodrigues equalised with a thunderous shot past the Dicarpale SC goal keeper leaving him with no chance of saving the ball from bulging into the Varca SC goal.
At half time both the teams were tied at 1-1. As the match progressed, in the second half, Cidroy Furtardo netted the second goal for Dicarpale SC in the 47th minute. Dylan Lima equalised for Varca SC making it 2-2 in the 64th minute. It was again Dicarpale SC who scored in the dying minutes of the match through Agnelo Cotta.
