RAIA: Fr Basilio Andrade HSS, Bethany Convent, OL of Snow’s HS, St Joseph Aquem, Mae Dos Pobres HS Nuvem and Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS of Verna moved ahead in the U-17 Boys Subroto Mukherjee Salcete Taluka football tournament.
At DSYA ground, Cuncolim, Fr Basilio Andrade HSS of Majorda blanked OL of Health HS of Cuncolim 4-0. Maubern Andy D’Costa scored a brace while Shriwan Fernandes and Ashton Barreto netted a goal each.
In the second match, Bethany Convent HS of Sao Jose de Areal easily outwitted The King’s School of Sao Jose de Areal by 7-1. Sam Moura netted a hat-trick, Lloyd Rocha scored brace while Joston Dias and Pio Gomendes scored a goal each. The only goal for The King’s School was netted by Emanuel Shaji. A goal each by Stanio Quadros and Anslan Colaco helped OL of Snow’s HS, Raia to register 2-0 win over St Anthony HS, Majorda.
At Ambelim football ground, St Joseph HS, Aquem-Margao downed Holy Spirit Institute, Margao 3-1. Mabon Chris Costa, Melroy Pereira and Joston Jeff Pinto were the scorers for St Jospeh HS while Ansloyd Soares reduced the margin for Holy Spirit Institute.
Mae Dos Pobres HS of Nuvem defeated Mt. Mary’s HS of Chinchinim 5-4 via the tie breaker after the match was ended in a 1-1 draw. In the third match – Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS defeated St Rock’s HS of Majorda by 5-0 goals. Preston Colaco and Rio Rodrigues scored a brace each while Masaia D’Mello scored the other goal.
