FATORDA: Fr Basilio Andrade HSS, Majorda and Kamakshi HSS, Ponda booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Zone III U-19 inter-higher secondary football tournament, organised by DSYA, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
In the first match, Fr Basilio Andrade HSS thumped St Andrew HSS, Vasco 5-0.
The highlight of the match was a hat-trick by Asher Afonso who scored goals in the 15th, 20th and 28th minutes while Aldred Correia scored a brace in the 34th & 39th minutes.
In another match, Kamakshi HSS, Ponda also made it to the last eight stage of the tournament with a 2-0 win over Kings’ HSS of Sao Jose de Areal. Girish Naik and Deepak Naik scored for the winners.
