PANJIM: Gaunem Strikers Bandora and KCC Morjim scored impressive wins in the respective matches of the Albert Developers 1st All Goa Season ball Cricket Tournament, played at Sports Authority of Goa ground, Campal, Panjim, on Thursday,
While Gaunem beat Vividha Sports Club by six wickets, KCC Morjem eased their way past Union Sports Club Marcel with four wickets in hand.
In the first match, Electing to bat first, Vividha lost wickets at regular interval and were bundled out for 100 in just 17.5 overs.
Sagar Parsekar (35) and Abhishek Kuthambikar (31) were the top run getters for Vivdha SC. Sagar hit four fours and a six in his innings which help his side post the target. Meanwhile, Gaunem Strikers’ Supresh Mulvi (3/13) and Man-of-the-Match Stanley Fernandes (3/18) impressed with the ball.
In reply, Gaunem started the innings slowly wherein Vividha’s Avinash Gawas picked two wickets early in the game. However, Kedhar Naik’s 38 run unbeaten knock which included five boundaries helped his side to achieve the target with six wickets in hand. Siddesh Naik (29) was the other top run getter for the winners.
In the second match, putting to bat first, Union Sports Club were bowled out for just 93 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Kashinath Sawant (16) and Deepak Naik (22) were the only batsmen to cross the double figures.
Arjun Shetgaonkar (4/12) was the top wicket getter for KCC Morjim. Shambha Dabolkar and Rajendra Dabolkar picked two wickets each.
In reply, despite a strong bowling challenge from Marcel team, Morjim side chased down the target with four overs to spare.
Anish Shetgaonkar and Shivprasad Shetgaonkar scored 19 runs each.
For Union Sports Club, Deepak Naik and Sunil Verekar picked two wickets each.
KCC Morjim’s Arjun Shetgaonkar bagged the Man-of-the-Match award.
