PONDA: Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi emerged champions in disciplines of table tennis in the men’s category and in chess in the men’s and women’s categories at the inter-collegiate championship organised by Goa University, recently.
The winning team in table tennis comprised of Rohit Naik, Anish Rane, Prathamesh Dhulapkar, Amey Naik (captain) and Shaikh Abdul.
The chess winning team included Datta Kambli, Aniket Prabhu, Ritviz Parab, Tatvesh Sawant, Shubham Sawaikar, Ved Bhobe.
The GEC also finished as the runners–up in badminton in the men’s category, organised by Goa University held at Peddem. The team members were Prathamesh Dhulapkar, Deepak Bhanushali, Saket Athalye, Mrunal Bhatkande and Leroy Martin.
The players were trained under the guidance of PE teacher Sagar R. Naik.
