The match was evenly matched with both teams holding possession play until Derryl D’Souza broke the deadlock in the second half.
The game ended 1-0 with GFDC emerging victorious.
Aldona MLA, Glenn Ticlo congratulated GFDC on their 5th anniversary and said, “It was a beautiful game with good skills from veterans. GFDC is doing a good job with 4,500 trainees and 37 centres across the state. Two centres are in my Aldona constituency. Football runs in our blood. If you keep playing you will remain fit and in good health,”
“It was a very good game for Glenn Ticlo XI along with goalkeeper Osvaldo D’costa. Although GFDC prevailed 1-0 Glenn Ticlo XI won the hearts of everybody. At GFDC we have been trying to do our best in grassroots (all football which is non-professional / non-elite is part of grassroots football). Veteran’s football is also considered as grassroots as the meaning of grassroots has been redefined by AFC. I know with pillars like Ticlo, football and GFDC will always prosper.  I am also thankful that MLA Nilesh Cabral came to be a part of the match,” said the Chairman of GFDC, Dr Rufino Monteiro.
GFDC Member Secretary, Aleixo Da Costa thanked the MLAs for coming and being a part of the exhibition match. He also made known that it was a friendly yet an exciting match.
