GFDC distributes kit at Socorro centre

PANJIM: The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) Socorro football development centre was a sea of green and yellow as the 80 trainees were handed their first football kits, recently.

Speaking on the occasion Shantaram Naik, Council member of GFDC expressed pleasure in seeing young children in football attire provided by GFDC. He urged parents to continue sending their trainees for practices to become future footballers. 
Chairman of GFDC, Dr Rufino Monteiro was pleased that the children from Socorro have been training regularly which has earned them football kits from GFDC. 
With the kits distributed he asked the trainees to perform well in the Vodafone GFDC Rising Stars Football Festival which is scheduled to begin on November 28.
Chief guest and MLA of Porvorim Constituency, Rohan Khaunte felt great pride in seeing young boys and girls in football attire and thanked GFDC for working hard towards the development of football and the young trainees. He further stated that football and other sports teaches us great values such as team spirit, togetherness, ethics, discipline and so on which are essential aspects of life. Among the dignitaries present were Ditosa Lobo, Sarpanch and Suresh Kavatankar of Friends XI Sports Club.
