PANJIM: Goa Medical College, Bambolim emerged champions in the inter-collegiate chess (mix) championship 2024-25, organised by Goa University, at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Goa University campus, Taleigao.
PES Ravi S Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, claimed the runners-up title, while Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, finished third.

Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda team was represented by Vraj Porob, Ishan Pagi, Ayush Nagarsekar, Aarth Vajandar, and Sanjeev Parab.
The chief guest for the closing ceremony was Ashwin Lavande, deputy registrar-academic, Goa University and guest of honour. Sanket Gaude, asst registrar, admissions, Goa University, Arvind Mhamal, international arbiter, Dattaram Pinge, FIDE arbitrator, along with Balachandra B Jadar, asst. director of physical education and sports, Goa University presented trophies to the winners at the event.
