PANJIM: Goa girls’ and boys’ team entered the semi-final of the Oorja Cup following their wins in their respective encounters on Sunday.
The girls’ team thumped Gujarat 8-3 to make semis grade.
Karishma Shirvokar was the star player as she scored four goals. Somaaya Mukundan netted two while Scindia Saundatikar and Lifa Gama scored a goal each.
After played a 1-1 draw in their first match against Gujarat, the boys’s team thrashed Daman Diu 14-0 in their second match to enter semis.
Chaitan Komarpant was the hero of the match as he scored four goals and was instrumental in other goals.
Boris D’Mello and Larryl Mascarenas scored a brace while Standly Fernandes, Aaron Alvares, Sevelon Cardozo, Jonas Cardozo, Sterino Fernandes, Baggio Fernandes also got onto the score sheet scoring a goal each.
The Goan teams will play Andaman and Nicobar in semis.
