Goa taekwondo team excels

The Taekwondo Association of Goa made the State proud securing 7 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals at National Poomse and National Zonal Taekwondo Championship in Bangalore.
The medal winners are Angela Naik, Carlos Lourenco, Elizabeth Luis, Tanvi Nadkarni, Lysha Fernandes, Sanida Fernandes, Sneha Naik, P. Srawana Kumar, Vijeta Kalkal, Marolif Fernandes, Sandeep Reswal, Disha Kerkar and Siraj Khan.
The Poomse Team of Goa also qualified to represent India at Commonwealth Poomse Championship to be held in Chennai from January 28 to 31.
The team was received at Ponda Indoor Stadium by Col P. S. Chandrashekar of 6 TTR, Ponda and R.D. Mangeshkar, president TAG. Col Chandrashekhar congratulated the team members for winning medals and the association for the hard work.
Avita Bandodkar, Sports Officer of Ponda congratulated the winning team members and the association. Theophile Lowe and Reshma Rane are the SAG coaches accompanying the Goa team.
