Goa Velha sneaked past Rossman Cruz Nagoa Sports Club 3-1 via the tie-breaker in the quarter-finals of Aldona Cup soccer organised by Quitula Sports Club at Quitula ground on Wednesday. The match ended 3-3 at normal time after Joy Gonsalves netted a second half hat-trick for Goa Velha.
Vigil Rego opened the scoring for Rossman in the 10th minute from the penalty spot. Within eight minutes, Rossman found themselves two up when Ajay shodankar fired in.
After the lemon break, Joy Gonsalves finished well after receiving a pass from Vishant Pednekar. Joy scored in the 45th and 68th to force the game to be decided on penalties.
From the spot, Vishal Pednekar, Bazel D’Silva and Joy Gonsalves were successful for Goa velha. Vigil Rego converted for Rossman.
