PANJIM: Wushu Association of Goa bagged three gold, two silver and one bronze medal, in the sub-junior and senior categories respectively, at the 8th West Zone Wushu Championship 2013 held at Khokhara Sports Complex, Ahmadabad, Gujarat.
While Josseb L. K. Fernandes won the gold medal in the Taolou Gunshu event of the boys group, Fiona Agnelo Rodrigues won the gold medal in the Sanshou below 36kg wt girls category. The third gold was won by Prachi Lala Halankar in the Sanshou below 40kg wt girls category..
The silver medals were won by Aristo Angelo de Souza in Sanshou below 52 kg weight boys category, while Rodney Rosario Fernandes won in the Sanshou above 90 kg weight boys category.
Vedant Umesh Shetgaonkar won the bronze medal in Sanshou below 36 kg weight boys category.
The Championship was organized by Wushu Sports Association of Gujarat, under the auspicious of Wushu Association of India recognised by Sports and Youth Welfare, Department Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, affiliated by Indian Olympic Association.
The team was coached and led by Paulo Killman Fernandes who also judged the Sanshou events in Wushu at Ahmedabad. The students were awarded medals and certificates.
