MAPUSA: Goan FC and Dunes Sports Club progressed in the Goa Football Association U-14 League Bardez zone play-offs following their wins in their respective encounters on Friday.
At Duler Stadium, YSC Colavle started brightly and had the first opportunity in the 13th minute but Irfan after doing all the hardwork of getting the better of Dunes defense shot tamely into the keeper hands.
Dunes Reniel D`Mello’s fierce shot was well kept out for a corner by the keeper Sagan Naik. In the 31st minute, Dunes Aditya Sawant darted towards the goal area and fed the ball to Joshua whose feeble shot was easily collected by the keeper.
In the tie-breaker, Pratik, Joshua, Aryan, Swayam, Reniel and Aditya converted the spot kick for the winners Dunes SC while Vimesh, Nihal, Abdul, Irfan and Nathan were successful for YSC Colvale.
At Poriat ground, Goan FC led 1-0 at break after Clison Furtado scored against St Anthony SC, Marna.
In the second half, Goan FC scored at regular intervals. Prachit Gaunkar and Vedant netted a brace before Clison completed his double and Bryson Pereira was the other goal scorer.
