DABOLIM: Gomteshwar Warriors defeating Goa Police by 3 runs to claim the Shantadurga T20 trophy cricket finals. After losing the toss, Gomteshwar posted 118 for 7, with Vikas Desai scoring 51, Akshay Kolde 33 not out and Pushpashil Desai 17 runs.
Dhondu Tulaskar of Goa Police took three wickets for 21 runs, while Abhijeet Talekar took 2 wickets for 33 and H. Goankar grabbed one wicket and gave away 15 runs.
Goa Police could only manage 115 for 8 in 17 overs. Krishna Volvoikar top scored with 44 runs while Dinesh Sawal made 23 and Ulhas Naik 14.
Pushpashil Desai of Gomteshwar finished with 2 wicketsfor 17 runs, Vitesh Prabhudesai had 2 for 24, Naresh Asoldekar and Sagar Gosavi took 1 wicket each and gave away 23 and 22 runs respectively.
Vikas Desai of Gomteshwar was declared as the man of the match finals, while Amar Arkas of Gomteshwar was declared as the man of the series. Murtuza Ali of Ali Boys was awarded as the best fielder, Dhondu Tulaskar of Goa police as the best bowler, Sagar Sawant as the best batsman. The second runners up of the tournament were Vasco Sports and Cultural Club.
Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho was the chief guest for the finals. The other dignities were Krishna Salkar, chairman of VPDA, Councillor Fiola Rego, P. Sandhu life member of GCA, Atmaram Narvekar president of Shantadurga Kala and Krida and Nazir Khan of Felicity Estates.
