CALANGUTE: Handi Boys, Maina-Curtorim got the better of Six Poies, Pomburpa 3-2 in the final of the 2nd All-Goa late Fr. Edward Francis Rego 3-a-side football tournament, at St Joseph’s School ground, here, recently.
The Handi Boys team included Jessel, Joywin and Joyston. They received Rs 25,000 while Six Poies which comprised of Savio, Pele and Sachin had to be content with runners-up prize of Rs 15,000. Savio Cardozo won the Best shooter award while Jessel Carneiro won the Best goalkeeper prize.
Bro. Franky Noronha, Provincial Superior of Pune Province – Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in presence of Bro. Apoli (Headmaster of St. Joseph), Bro Jacob (Superior of Boys Home), Julio Cardozo, President of Old Boys Association, members and other dignitaries.
Earlier, Bro. Apoli introduced the chief guest and later proposed the vote of thanks while Cajetan compered.
