PANJIM: FC Goa’s opening salvo in the ISL didn’t quite go to plan as Mumbai City trounced the Gaurs 3-0 at Fatorda.
FC Goa’s Alberto Noguera believes that the team will certainly turn it around in the coming days.
“Yes, I want (to take responsibility in helping the youngsters and turn things around), but not because I am a senior player, but because I am sure we can prove that this was just a bad day and nothing more than that,” said Noguera.
“We want to improve. I trust this team. I’m sure that if we can tweak a few things we will be able to have a good season again. I trust this team one hundred percent.” “We are looking forward to the next training, the next game. It’s good that we get to play soon,” added the central midfielder.
“We don’t want to think too much about the past because that’s something we can’t change. The new game gives us a chance to prove ourselves again and we are looking ahead rather than looking back.
“As everybody saw, it was a very bad game for us. This happens in football sometimes. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. We can’t keep harping on that. We have to look forward to the next game. The challenge for us would be to understand what went wrong and look to improve and work harder.”
