PANJIM: International Master Nitish Belurkar emerged champion at the ‘Chess at Dreamhack 2023’, All India Rapid Chess tournament held at Hitex Centre, Hyderabad, recently.
Amongst others, Nitish outsmarted International Master Kushagra Mohan, International Master Harikrishna A Ra, FIDE Master Ramakrishna J, International Master Sammed Shete and drew with Grand Master Karthik Venkatraman and International Master Viani D’Cunha to score eight points with a rating gain of 30.4 points to emerge champion.
International Master Viani was placed at the second position while International Master Harikrishna was placed at the third position.
In the Blitz tournament, Nitish also won the third place scoring eight points out of 9.
International Master Nitish is a student of SS Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira-Bambolim.
