CURCHOREM: Navelim Sporting Club got the better of Sporting Club of Davorlim 5-4 via the tie-breaker to romp into the quarter-finals of XIth late Fr Gervasio Pinto memorial inter-village football tournament, organized by Angels Boys of Curchorem, at Figueiredo ground, Curchorem. There was no score at the regular time.
Both the teams put up a better display and showed more urgency in their approach but could not succeed in their efforts. In the resultant tie-breaker, Navelim proved to better shooters than Davorlim Club.
Earlier, Immaculate Conception SC, Paroda defeated Betalbatim Sporting Club 9-8 via sudden death and cruise into quarters.
