Sanju Samson set the tone for the innings with a brisk 24 off 15 balls before falling to Blessing Muzarabani, giving early momentum to India. Abhishek Sharma then took command, blasting a quickfire 55 off just 30 deliveries, decorating his innings with four fours and four sixes. Ishan Kishan continued the momentum with a fluent 38, ensuring the scoring rate remained high throughout the middle overs. Tilak Varma provided the late acceleration, smashing 44 off only 16 balls, while Hardik Pandya finished unbeaten on 50 off 23 deliveries, guiding India to a monumental total. This total surpassed India’s previous best of 218 for four against England during the 2007 edition of the tournament. It also ranks as the second-highest score in T20 World Cup history, only behind Sri Lanka’s 260 for six against Kenya in 2007. Last week, West Indies had posted 254 against Zimbabwe, which India’s historic effort now eclipses.
