India’s national cricket team unveiled a new ODI jersey with Apollo Tyres as the lead sponsor ahead of the Australia series

Indian cricket fans got their first glimpse of the national team’s updated ODI jersey during a pre-series photoshoot at Perth’s Optus Stadium. The new kit features Apollo Tyres prominently on the front, replacing Dream11, India’s previous lead sponsor. Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Kumar Reddy represented India at the shoot, while Australia sent Mitchell Starc and Travis Head. All-rounder Axar Patel attended a separate casual press interaction.

Reactions to the jersey have been mixed. While some fans praised its modern design and clean aesthetics, others criticised the oversized Apollo Tyres logo, noting that it has pushed the “INDIA” tag lower than in previous versions. The debate reflects fans’ high expectations for the team’s on-field presentation ahead of the series.

India is set to face Australia in a three-match ODI series starting October 19, with excitement heightened by the return of star batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, playing ODIs after recently retiring from T20Is and Tests. Their presence is expected to draw large crowds both at the stadium and on broadcast platforms.

The change in sponsorship follows the Indian government’s Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025, which banned real-money gaming in August. Dream11, whose business relies on such gaming, withdrew from its BCCI contract, leaving Apollo Tyres to step in as the new lead sponsor for the team.
