A splendid hat-trick by Joe Colaco helped hosts Parish Youth, Nuvem to crush Cuncolim Union 5-0 to enter the quarter-final of Muriel Faleiro memorial inter-village football tournament organised by ParishYouth at Church ground, Nuvem on Sunday.
Nuvem began on a promising note in the opening session and time and again put the Cuncolim Union citadel under immense pressure. Cuncolim Union, who fielded an experienced side gave a good account of themselves especially in the first half.
Crossing over, Parish Youth created umpteen forays into the rival territory with their forwards and midfielders working in tandem. Their persistent forays paid dividends when Alphon Noronha opened the floodgates as he placed the ball to the far corner of the net.
After taking the lead, ParishYouth slackened their pace but did not allow their opponents any space to manoeuvre inside the penalty area.
Parish Youth were in full cry during the last ten minutes with striker Joe Colaco being in his elements as he struck thrice to complete his hat-trick in quick succession.
