Kayden wins sub-junior gold at Western India PowerLifting c’ships

PONDA: Young Kayden Fernandes put up a splendid performance to win the gold medal at the Western India PowerLifting championships organised by Goa Super Bodies Powerlifting Association at Indoor Stadium, Ponda. 

Kayden became the first individual to win the strongman title for Goa when he outclassed strong participants from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra to top the podium. 

“I am very happy that I won the gold medal for the state, it’ll give me more confidence and I’ll work even harder to be better,” said Kayden from Benaulim. 

Kayden with a lot of grit and determination lifted an amazing 487.5 kgs in the sub-junior category way ahead of second placed Pushkar Bahi of Vidarbha and Yuvraj Singh of Rajasthan. The Goa team was managed by Prasad Naik. The competition was also held for juniors and senior category.
