Khorlim Youth lift Bicholim PY Cup

PANJIM, OCT 3
Parish Youth of Khorlim, Mapusa stamped their name on Bicholim Parish Youth Cup overcoming a stiff challenge from Parish Youth of Tivim in an exciting finals at  Chatrapati Shivaji maidan, Bicholim on Saturday.
The score read 2-0 at the end of regulation time, both goals coming from the boots of agile Francis Fernandes of Khorlim Youth.
The inter-parish 9-a-side football tournament organized by Grace Parish Youth, Bicholim for the first time, saw 14 teams vying for the top spot.
Prizes for the outstanding teams and players were distributed by Chief Guest, Fr. Salvador Rodrigues, Parish Priest of Sirsaim parish, Sheryl Andrade, president of  Bicholim Parish Youth Association and Fr. Tomas Lobo, Parish Priest of Bicholim parish.
Following prizes were also given.  First scorer Vicky Fernandes (Valpoi). Best player Francis Fernandes (Khorlim). Best defender Kingsten Fernandes (Tivim). Best goalkeeper Mariano Mendes (Assonora). Best disciplined team Sirsaim Parish Youth. Brother Peter D’Souza co-ordinated the proceedings.  Angelica Mathias compered the event.
