PANJIM: Kuldeep Kabadi, Arun Naik and Noel Noronha emerged winners in Shantabai Dhond memorial Veterans all-Goa table-tennis tournament organized by Goa Veteran Table Tennis Association (GVTTA), held at indoor stadium, campal, here, on Sunday.
Kuldeep bagged top honour in above 60 years category by getting the better P Borkar 3-0 in a one-sided 11-3, 11-6 and 11-4 game. While Arun and Noel stormed their way in 50 and 40 years category respectively.
Noel trounced Dinesh Shetty 3-0 with 11-8, 11-6 and 11-4 whitewash while Arun won by an identical 3-0 hard-fought win over S Affzalpurkar 11-5, 11-13 and 14-12.
In all, 53 players participated in this years edition. Chief guest Sagar Agni distributed the prizes in the presence of other dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Vice-President of Goa Table Tennis Association Gourish Dhond extended his support for the National Veteran Table Tennis Championship to be held in Goa next year and admired the efforts taken by the GVTTA. GVTTA President Chetan Tarcar welcomed.
