Mahila Nutan outplay Boscos by six wickets: school cricket

PANJIM: Mahila Nutan won by six wickets beating Don Bosco High School in the Germania inter-school cricket tournament played at Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal-Panjim.

PANJIM: Mahila Nutan won by six wickets beating Don Bosco High School in the Germania inter-school cricket tournament played at Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal-Panjim. 
Don Bosco won the toss and elected to bat scoring 119 for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Boscos contribution came through Triroy Kubal (27), Rohan Shetty (28), and Vedant Sawant,  who remained unbeaten with 15 runs when their innings folding up with the quota of 20 overs exhausted.
Mahila Nutan’s bowlers, who managed their best in trying to restrain Don Boscos batsmen were Swapnil Malvi,  who took two wickets for 16 runs while the following bowlers  Tanvesh Chetry with figures of 17/1, Shriyash Gawande 13/1, Anush  Bandodkar 13/1 and Vaibhav Naik 13/1 also bowled their best.
In reply to Don Bosco’s score 119, Mahila Nutan achieved past the desired target scoring 121 losing just 4 wickets, in 18.1 overs
Shivam Amonkar with 47 runs top scored supported by Sahil Naik  with 18 runs. Anush Bandodkar with 19 runs and Tanvesh Chetri  with 14 remained unbeaten having earned their victory with six wickets in hand.
Bon Boscos bowlers Paras Volvoikar  with figures of 16/1, Shanu Vantamuri 22/1 and Rohan Shetty 24/1 took a wicket each.
