MARGAO: Maina SC were too good in their skills as they scored an overwhelming victory over Deao SC 7-1 in the GFA 3rd Division Football League at Sao Jose de Areal ground, on Wednesday. At the first half, Maina SC were leading 3-0.
Maina SC dominated the proceedings from the kick off. They made an attempt in the very second minute with Joel Fernandes after receiving the ball from Jenito Dias slammed a grounder but was blocked by Deao SC defender.
Deao SC also had their chance in the very sixth minute as Dorito Dias collected the ball from the centre and took a long ranger but the defender of Maina SC timely cleared the ball.
Maina SC took the lead in the 8th minute through Joel’s ground shot off a through pass served on the platter by Benyson Fernandes inside the rival penalty area. Maina SC doubled the lead with Jenito’s deft placement into the rival nets off a supply by Joel.
Maina SC upped their ante by scoring the third goal in the 44th minute through Benyson Fernandes’ long ranger after Joel timely fed the pass.
Crossing over, Maina SC pumped in four more goals. In the 51st minute, Jenito netted the fourth goal with a half volley placement shot off a pass by Joel.
Thereafter, Benyson completed his hat-trick by converting in the 63th, 75th and 79th minutes. Deao SC pulled one back through Dorito.
