KAKODA: Mandopa SC defeated Raitura SC 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 21st Holy Cross Trophy at the match played at Vodlemoll, Kakoda ground, on Saturday.
Avelon Gomes drew the first blood for Mandopa in the 2nd minute while Mobin Gomes doubled the lead for Mandopa in the 26th minute.
Within two minutes Wilfred Gomes pulled a goal back for Raitura SC to narrow down the margin.
Raitura SC went full in to find the equaliser in the second-half but their strikers fumbled at the goal.
Madopa SC however tried hard and played on counters to kill off the match their attemps finally bore fruits as Ariston Costa further inflated the lead and drove the final nail into the coffin for Mandopa to make it 3-1 in the 69th minute to take his team into the quarters.
